Labour behind the label ‘Let’s Clean Up Fashion 2011’

During a day of research in Sion Hill library I found and read Lucy Roger’s dissertation written in 2010, ‘Who pays the price? An investigation into the costs of fast fashion’. I knew some high street brands did not have the best policies in place when it came to clothing manufacture and the low price of many clothes left me suspicious as to the treatment of garment workers, but I didn’t expect the picture to be as desperate and black as it is. ‘Labour behind the label’ an organisation that supports garment workers, produces an annual report that looks at the response of the high street retailers to these issues and grades them accordingly.
